Farming Like Grandad 2023 eventful because of COVID cancellations and weather. This years event, usually held in late January, had to postponed due to heavy rain in the days before due, turning the usual venue in to a series of large puddles. The nearby, and now disused, Te Teko Racecourse was available, so became the venue for this years event held in mid April. This years event continued to showcase exhibits of craft, shearing, milking, butter making, old cars, old and new machinery. A popular special feature of this years event were the Rotorua Axemen chopping and handsawing competitions.
